Position Summary

The Strategy and Business Transformation team is seeking an Associate to be part of an internal team responsible for supporting the creation, communication, and continuous development of National Life Group’s business strategy, market development and business transformation. Strategy projects involve assessing problems and opportunities, helping the organization make well-informed decisions about the future, and laying the groundwork for effective execution. In this role, your work will be integral to strategic decision-making at the enterprise and business unit levels. Through this role you will interact with all levels of the company, including senior executives, and be expected to bring a high degree of professionalism and maturity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

In this role, you will:

  • Engage in strategy projects at the enterprise and business unit level. Independently manage some projects, while contributing as a member of a cross-functional team on others.
  • Develop an approach to solve business problems, drive execution, and share outcomes and learnings
  • Synthesize research and data into an effective storyline and develop high-impact presentations to communicate the story to a range of stakeholders to support strategic decision-making
  • Develop an understanding of the industry and track trends relevant to our business and future strategy
  • Design and facilitate working sessions and workshops with projects teams, including senior leaders
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including your own work and the progress of your cross functional teams
  • Coach and guide others on strategic thinking and tools
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA or other relevant graduate degree nice to have.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience, or 1-3 years work experience relevant graduate degree.
  • Financial services or insurance experience a plus but not required.
  • Experience conducting research and data analysis
  • Critical thinking & problem-solving skills, including the ability to learn quickly and synthesize information
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations) and ability to tell a story
  • Self-starter who is motivated and can work through ambiguity
  • Open, curious and not afraid to ask questions
  • High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback, also to give feedback to others
  • Organized and detail-oriented

Salary Disclosure
The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
