This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about leveraging digital tools to drive meaningful change and has a keen interest in advancing the mission of our nonprofit through innovative fundraising strategies. The Digital Fundraising Specialist is a critical advocate for NMDR’s rescued dogs. The purpose of this role is to engage current supporters as well as work to expand NMDR’s reach using social media avenues.

Key Responsibilities and Duties – Other duties may be assigned.

The Digital Fundraising Specialist is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of our digital fundraising initiatives. This role will develop multi-channel integrated promotional plans and product launch strategies in alignment with organizational priorities. The ideal candidate will utilize a predominantly digital approach to create compelling campaigns that engage donors and exceed fundraising targets.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and implement strategic digital marketingDigi and fundraising campaigns based on the organization’s business priorities.
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor, assess, and report on the performance of marketing and fundraising campaigns, drawing actionable insights to optimize future efforts.
  • Manage social media advertising budgets and promotional activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing ROI.
  • Engage a diverse donor base through innovative online strategies, including crowdfunding and targeted donor engagement techniques.
  • Regularly provide comprehensive reports detailing campaign performance, growth, and engagement metrics, and refine strategies based on data analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant laws and ethical standards in nonprofit fundraising.
  • Build and sustain a strong network through proactive communication with industry professionals and influencers across social media platforms.
  • Lead creative content creation and online community engagement initiatives to foster a supportive and active donor community.
  • Provide quality customer service to families, volunteers, and staff while actively promoting our mission, services, programs, and events.
  • Represent National Mill Dog Rescue in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and modeling safe work practices.
  • Properly report all safety concerns and violations immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Work cooperatively with all volunteers and realize the talent and commitment they bring to National Mill Dog Rescue.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven results in digital marketing and fundraising, preferably within a nonprofit environment, with a track record of designing and executing successful campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, make decisions, and provide detailed insights and recommendations for campaign optimization.
  • Experience with data analytics tools and proficient understanding of social media KPIs, web traffic metrics, and SEO.
  • Demonstrable capability in managing budgets and resources effectively to achieve strategic objectives and maintain cost-efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of donors and stakeholders.
  • Candidates should provide examples of past campaigns, highlighting their outcomes and impact.
  • Possess a deep understanding of ethical fundraising practices and relevant legal regulations.
  • A thorough understanding and commitment to the mission and goals of National Mill Dog Rescue.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing and social media principles and practices, and the desire to apply that knowledge in a professional environment.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn about new innovations and software.
  • Comfortable with routinely shifting demands.
  • Comfortable with interacting with new people on a daily basis while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of canine behavior and handling required.
  • Excellent and professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Maturity, good judgment and a professional personal appearance.
  • Must be a team player and experience working in a team as well as independently.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with a diverse group of workers.
  • Fear Free certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements / Work Conditions

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Will be required to work in a noisy, odorous environment.
  • Must be able to work hands on with dogs as needed.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive up/down and sideways motion utilizing hands, arms and shoulders in order to capture video and still photographs.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds for short distances; 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to walk, restrain and handle (utilizing leash or manual) dogs of all sizes.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb, balance, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel and handle equipment including power washers, hoses, buckets, mops and squeegees for an entire shift.
  • While performing essential duties of this job, employees are regularly exposed to noxious odors, fumes or airborne particles, allergens, toxic or caustic chemicals; and potentially volatile situations which can present risk of violence or injury.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 28 per week

  • This position is a part time position with hours ranging from 20 hours per week to 28 hours per week.
