This position is located in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, in the Administration Division.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40 hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must demonstrate competence in attention to detail, customer service, oral and written communications and problem solving. This experience includes activities such as: (1) performing a variety of data base management activities, (2) determining hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment necessary to accomplish unit objectives; (3) managing the installation of automatic data processing resources to include the installation of computer hardware and network hardware, and (4) monitoring network and systems performance and troubleshooting routine problems. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate education (18 semester hours) in a directly-related graduate level college study such as computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. Responsibilities:
Major Duties:- Plans, develops, and coordinates the implementation of computer-based services and applications in support of the unit's mission.
- Is the principal advisor to the unit's staff in the use of programs.
- Serves as an active team member in developing unit plans and is responsible for formulating and recommending information technology policies, plans, and procedures. After approval, incumbent is responsible for their implementation.
- Assures compliance with operational and security requirements as directed by General Services Administration, Departmental, and National Park Service regulations.
- Develops local implementing instructions based on guidance developed at higher levels when multiple system issues and network systems are involved.
- Develops highly technical guides to support server configurations ensuring optimal performance.
- Evaluates and reports on new trends and equipment in the customer support field.
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot server hardware and drives.
