What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at NATURAL GAS FUEL SYSTEMS LLC?
Job Summary
Reporting to the Controller and will support all Plant Management. Cost Accountant will be responsible for Cost Accounting and Financial Analysis for the plant.
Key Responsibilities- Understand variances to budget and prior year and identifying opportunities for cost reductions and improvements.
- Complete annual standard setting process.
- Support Supply Chain Manager with driving NWC metrics including inventory management and positive cash flow.
- Support Supply Chain Manager with driving Cycle Count and Annual Physical Inventory process.
- Support plant in analyzing ROI and Post-Mortem on capital expenditures.
- Implement improved mid-month reporting processes.
- Analysis of month end results: P&L and Balance Sheet including variance analysis
- Complete month-end results package for the Plant to present to Senior Management.
- Provide monthly financial forecasts and assist Controller with Annual Operating Plan.
- Support monthly close including Balance Sheet reconciliation and accurate Revenue and Expense oversight.
- Provide key decision support to manufacturing plant and support safety and operating initiatives.
- Conduct regular reviews of production order variances to identify unusual variances and report root cause analysis.
- Monitor and work with plant management on Continuous Improvement initiatives and validate savings.
- Ad hoc financial analysis of financial and operating metrics to support business requirement(s).
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with company’s procedures and policies.
- Evaluates and recommends vendors, material, and equipment for changes to manufacturing processes with justification and ROI analysis.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge in the safe operating procedures for compressed natural gas and the various compliance requirements affiliated with CNG fuel systems.
The successful candidate will possess a
- BA degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 3 years of increasing manufacturing accounting responsibility.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, variance analysis, and standard setting is required.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools. ERP systems experience required; for example: SAP, Oracle, etc.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively by adapting to multiple personality types in order to drive business results.
- The ideal candidate will have high energy and a positive “can do” attitude, is detailed oriented, and has a willingness to “roll up their sleeves” to get the job done.
