The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, overseeing stock levels, and ensuring efficient inventory control processes. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the availability of products while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.

Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet operational needs and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Stock Replenishment: Coordinate the replenishment of inventory by generating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and managing reorder points.
  • Stock Rotation: Implement inventory rotation techniques (e.g., FIFO) to minimize product spoilage and obsolescence.
  • Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and address any supply chain issues.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with recorded inventory levels.
  • Data Entry: Accurately record all inventory transactions, adjustments, and movements in the inventory management system.
  • Quality Control: Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized records of inventory levels, transactions, and supplier communications.
  • Forecasting: Collaborate with relevant departments to forecast inventory needs and adjust procurement strategies.
  • Obsolete Inventory: Identify and manage obsolete or slow-moving inventory, coordinating with management for disposal or clearance.
  • Inventory Audits: Perform periodic audits of inventory to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Reports: Generate and analyze inventory reports, highlighting trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure inventory management practices adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to inventory management processes for increased efficiency.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage inventory management software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols when handling and storing inventory.
  • Training: Provide training to staff on proper inventory handling and control procedures.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certifications in inventory management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices and supply chain operations.
  • Physical fitness for tasks involving inventory handling and counting.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing inventory needs and market conditions.

Position Type:
This is typically a full-time position with regular business hours, but flexibility may be required based on inventory needs.
