About the Role
Our healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated and organized Health Assistant Coordinator to join our team. You will provide vital support to our healthcare assistants (HAs) and other healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our department and contributing to high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Support :
- Assist HAs with preparing examination rooms and equipment for patient visits.
- Schedule appointments (may or may not be included depending on the role).
- Manage patient flow and ensure adherence to appointment times.
- Collect demographic and insurance information from patients (may or may not be included depending on the role).
- In some cases, may perform basic clinical tasks under the direct supervision of a qualified medical professional (as permitted by your qualifications and state regulations).
- Administrative Support :
- Maintain medical supplies and equipment inventory and order necessary replacements.
- Answer phones, screen calls, and route messages to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with scheduling and managing patient appointments (may or may not be included depending on the role).
- Prepare paperwork and documents for patients and healthcare providers.
- Perform data entry and other clerical tasks to ensure accurate record keeping.
- May compile reports or data for the healthcare team.
- Patient Care Coordination :
- In some cases, may assist with basic patient care tasks under the supervision of a qualified medical professional (e.g.
taking vital signs, collecting samples).
Communicate effectively with patients and address any questions or concerns they may have (may or may not be included depending on the role).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare administrative or clinical setting (preferred).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology (a plus).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
