ABOUT THE COMPANY
NBX Wellness (“NBX” or the “Company”) is an emerging leader in personalized wellness. The Company develops and markets physician-designed nutraceutical products, supplements and genetics tests for medical and wellness practitioners for use by their patients. The Company sells through professional (B2B) and consumer (B2C) channels. On the professional side of the business, NBX offers medical and wellness providers the opportunity to purchase its products wholesale or through a personalized ecommerce store that allows providers to avoid the hassles of stock-and-sell. On the consumer side, the Company sells its products under its own retail brand through its own website and various ecommerce marketplaces.
The Company was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Austin, TX. In 2022 NBX partnered with MD Holdings, an entrepreneur-managed investment firm with a track record of successful partnership with healthcare organizations.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The CEO will be responsible for providing strategic, marketing, operational, and financial leadership and will work closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership team to drive growth by expanding the Company’s provider and consumer relationships, product portfolio and increasing the effectiveness of the Company’s sales and marketing investments.
The ideal candidate will be an ambitious commercial executive with a track record of driving business performance in an omnichannel environment. He/She will be experienced in developing profitable growth strategies and attracting and retaining talent to achieve superior performance. Highly strategic at his/her core, the ideal candidate understands how to analyze the wellness market, prioritize investments, and position the company and its brands for long-term success.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Stimulate innovation in sales, marketing, and product development to ensure growth and profitability.
- Oversee, motivate and manage a senior team to drive results and create accountability.
- Plan, develop, implement and direct the organization’s operational and finance functions by developing and implementing long and short-range strategic plans, policies, business analytics and programs to continue achieving revenue and profitability objectives.
POSITION SPECIFICATION
- Analyze and make recommendations on the impact of long-range growth initiatives, planning, and introduction of new strategies.
- Develop credibility and authority for the finance leadership team by accurately analyzing budgets, reports, financial trends and operational procedures to assist the Board of Directors and senior executive team.
- Create, improve, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization that will improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the company.
- Communicate effectively and establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board of Directors as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
- Mentor and develop leadership team members to foster growth and invest in people and culture throughout the organization.
- Balance strategic responsibilities and tactical execution to meet top-line sales and profitability targets.
- Play a leading role in developing the company’s image and reputation in the market.
YEAR ONE CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS
As a new CEO, your first year is critical for setting the direction, building relationships, and
establishing your leadership. Essential factors of success will include:
- Understand the organization, its products and its customers: Understand NBX’s vision, mission, values, culture, and strategic objectives. Gain insights into its market position, competitive landscape, and key stakeholders.
- Develop a short-term plan that facilitates double-digit year-on-year growth in revenue and a longer 3-year plan that evaluates potential new avenues for opportunity. Collaborate with the Board of Directors and key leaders to develop a clear vision and strategy to execute these plans. Define goals, identify priorities, and create a roadmap for success.
- Build relationships: Establish strong relationships with the Board of Directors, executive team, customers, partners, and other key stakeholders. Foster open and transparent communication to build trust and collaboration.
- Develop a high-performing executive team: Work with the leadership team to set priorities and align on expectations. Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration within the executive team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 8 years of organizational leadership with 2-5 years experience in a Commercial Leadership or General Management capacity in an omni-channel environment. Demonstrated experience in the health and wellness market is strongly preferred.
- Small to medium-sized business operations experience, including full P&L and balance sheet responsibilities. Experience managing a P&L of $5-10M.
- Record of success managing a company’s overall financial health by focusing on financial metrics to improve the company’s performance.
- Experience leading across diverse business functions such as finance, sales & marketing, product and supply chain & operations.

EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in administration, marketing, business, commerce, or a related field.

Pay: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
