What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personnel Assistant position at Nebraska State Government?
The Personnel Assistant works with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Personnel Division functions and duties. Duties vary from day to day but include answering inquiries about services and benefits, rules and regulations and payroll questions. Attention to detail to enable bi-weekly and monthly processing of payroll. Excellent interpersonal skills required to enable communicating with employees and the public orally and in writing. Record keeping through electronic files including personnel files, position control, and leave administration. Duties will necessitate a working knowledge of Word, Excel and email. The work will necessitate knowledge of accounting principles and a general knowledge of various employment laws and practices.

REQUIREMENTS: One year of combined education/training and/or experience performing human resource support functions such as processing payroll, assisting employees with benefits/services, recruiting and orientating employees, maintaining personnel records, and/or processing the creation of positions OR Associates degree in human resources, business administration, public administration or related field.
