Position Overview:
The Operations Supervisor Final Mile White Glove Logistics is responsible for the hands-on direction, planning, and coordination of all operational, administrative activities of the dedicated-on site white glove home delivery service at our Romeoville Illinois facility. This key leadership role is responsible for operational conformance, safety, quality, compliance along with supporting our business development efforts and ensuring profitable growth. This includes but is not limited to leading initiatives for continuous improvement, quality service, and exceeding customer expectations.
Essential Duties:
· Strategically manage a BTD operation at our customer location managing independent contractor home delivery teams.
· Ability to manage our on-site operation within a customer warehouse location and be able to communicate with the customer on a consistent basis.
· Responsible for on-time delivery performance and quality delivery operations through oversight of driver teams.
· Work closely with routing and dispatch team to coordinate effective home delivery routes.
·Manage, monitor daily loadout and dispatch processes for home delivery teams daily.
· Responsible for the recruitment and retention of Contract Carriers.
· Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
·Manage the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) associated with the operations of the program.
Establishes operations standards for ROI, cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
· Establishes best operational practices, capacity planning, productivity, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and performance measures.
· Responsible for making sure driver teams meet compliance requirements.
· Create an environment that fosters open and positive team communication by hosting team meetings, stand-ups, planning associate recognition events, individual meetings, and other related formal and informal methods of communication.
· Ensure customer and vendor contract requirements are administered and enforced.
· Knowledge of Dispatch Track would be beneficial.
· Designing and implementing a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base.
· Develops budgets, manages P&L reports and other analytical data to support and drive profitable business decisions.
· Builds develops and manages an operations team capable of supporting customer requirements as well as enhancing employee relations and company morale.
· Recruits and trains employees and contractors for warehouse, office, and delivery operations
· Coordinates with corporate teams to implement new company initiatives, new customers, and new policies and procedures.
Builds relationships with key customers and other cross-functional internal teams within the organization.
· Develops Annual Operations Business Plan that is cohesive with sales, marketing, administration, and finance plans.
· Oversees the operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements. Ensures the continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
· Experience in warehouse 5S methodology.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bi-Lingual required
· Bachelor’s degree preferred (but not required)
· Minimum 5-7 years of management experience.
· Minimum four years Final Mile White Glove logistics experience.
· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
· Superior communication skills both written and verbal.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
· Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
