Loss Control and Compliance Specialist

Position Overview

The Loss Control and Compliance Specialist’s goal is to help minimize shrink and maximize profits for the company. The LCC Specialist will work primarily in downtown Indianapolis area but may be required to travel to stores in the region to help reduce theft, help identify areas to attain a safe work environment for employees to work and for customers to shop. The LCC Specialist will also be a champion for food safety in our stores.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties

· Familiarity with all company policies and procedures

· Travel to stores in an assigned region to monitor for customer and associate theft and to apprehend shoplifters when preventative measures fail

· Identify Organized Retail Crime (ORC) activity and communicate ORC activity in your region

· Prepare accurate and detailed case reports to document apprehensions

· Assist the Loss Control and Compliance Investigator in recognizing and monitoring for internal theft

· Build relationships with store personnel, help train associates, and bring awareness to LCC policies and programs to help minimize shrink, increase ORC awareness, provide a safe environment for associates to work and customers to shop

· Knowledgeable in food safety guidelines and requirements; monitors and responds to any issues or concerns in this area

· Interact with law enforcement, testify in criminal and civil, and court actions

· Maintain a working knowledge of store’s fire and burglary alarm and CCTV systems

· Conduct LCC audits including DSD, operational, work safety and food safety audits to determine compliance with company policy, OSHA requirements and health department requirements

· Assist with installation of security equipment such as CCTV systems and alarms

· Models customer satisfaction expectations and supports company service initiatives

Key Requirements

· Previous Loss Prevention experience and/or education in criminal justice is preferred

· Must be available to work a full time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

· Travel may occasionally be required to stores in assigned region

· Must have strong written and verbal communications skills to deal effectively with all levels of management, associates, customers and vendors

· Must have solid basic computer skills

Key Physical Requirements

· Must be capable of apprehending and when necessary detaining suspected or confirmed shoplifters, doing so in compliance with all FEI guidelines

· Must be able to both sit for extended periods of time when surveilling via CCTV system as well as walk for extended periods of time when observing and monitoring the sales floor, backroom, etc.
