What are the responsibilities and job description for the Disa Pattern Change Operator - 2nd shift position at Neenah Foundry Company?
This is an active job and requires you to climb onto and off of a forklift repeatedly throughout the shift. This position also requires good hand-eye coordination and the ability to communicate effectively with other people working on the molding machine.
The position offers the opportunity for cross-training throughout the department. Some of the other department responsibilities include hauling and pouring molten iron, machine maintenance and sweeping and shoveling sand.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Practice a high level of safety at all times
- Inspect patterns for damage and report anything that does not look normal to the Supervisor or Shift Lead.
- Operate a forklift according to training and established safety guidelines.
- Ensure supplies are kept neat and orderly.
- Assembling and disassemble patterns.
- Read and follow process sheets.
- Operate equipment according to training and established safety guidelines.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
- Verify all dates, tags, job numbers etc are correct according to process sheets.
- Ensure process sheets are in order and signed off on as patterns are completed and delivered to correct personnel.
- Experience in fork lift operation is preferred but not required. Training provided.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Previous operator experience a plus, but not necessary.
- Cover other positions while time permits, if necessary.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with Supervisors and other team members.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- No educational requirements.
- No previous experience required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to tolerate hot working conditions and a loud environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in small spaces.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination.
