Job Summary

The People and Culture team at Neighborhood House provides administrative and system support to over 350 staff located across multiple locations. Under the direction of the People and Culture Manager, the P&C Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and technical support across several areas. Duties for this role include but are not limited to supporting the full cycle recruiting process, records organization and maintenance, processing incoming staff changes and requests, providing administrative support to P&C Partners, and supporting a high volume of staff Q & A. This position may also serve as backup to other P&C team members in areas of general P&C when needed.

 

Responsibilities

Recruiting and Onboarding Support (50%)

  • Update job descriptions, post job announcements and refresh positions on agency website and other external sites.
  • Process all pre-employment screening requirements and accurately prepare all new hire paperwork and resources for new hire orientations.
  • Support coordination of new employee orientations in partnership with P&C Partners and agency staff
  • Ensure accurate and thorough processing of new hire paperwork including entering information in the HRIS (Kronos).
  • Review candidate education evaluations and support completion for current staff changing positions.

 

P&C Administrative Support (50%)

  • Complete employment verifications for staff as requested.
  • Assist in re-running subsequent background check screens in compliance with local and federal laws and program requirements.
  • Process employee information changes in Kronos, such as personal address updates, agency phone, supervisor, or site updates.
  • Process all position changes in Kronos and HRDB.
  • Track and update staff credentials in HRIS and other external systems in compliance with program and agency requirements.
  • Promote a positive work environment and communications through ongoing and visible employee contact.
  • Process incoming mail.
  • Provide strong customer service to address employee questions and concerns.

 

Qualifications

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a culturally diverse workplace dedicated to equity and inclusion.
  • Neighborhood House is on a journey to become a fully inclusive, multicultural, anti-racist organization. Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to advancing racial equity and social justice.
  • Must demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiar with federal, state, and local employment law and HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Experience with HRIS software is a plus.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skill with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy when completing tasks.
  • Willingness to comply with the established agency performance standards which may include productivity/personal responsibility, client/customer service-orientation, embracing a team player orientation, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment with constant change and growth.
  • Ability to work in-person and remotely at a variety of work sites throughout King County.
  • This is a hybrid role that will typically require 1-2 days of onsite work.

 

 Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working for a non-profit.
  • Group training/presentation skills a plus.

 

Required Credentials

  • Must pass Neighborhood House background check requirements.
  • Position requires Washington State bi-annual criminal background re-check.
  • Department of Early Learning portable background check.

 

Post-Hire on-the-job Training Requirements

  • Child Abuse and Neglect training (within 2 weeks of hire).
  • Current First Aid Certificate within 30 days of hire.
  • Current CPR Certificate within 30 days of hire.
  • Sexual Harassment Training within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of Fair Credit Report Act (FCRA) Training within 30 days of employment.
