Main Tasks & Responsibilities
QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Collaborate with Manufacturing to develop/ implement effective quality control and improvements to specific manufacturing processes.
- Perform and implement corrective actions, to get quality improvements.
- Review and update manuals, quality work instructions, maps, and specifications from the quality system as required.
- Maintain the Material Review Board (MRB) backlog up to date.
- Facilitate weekly MRB meetings for Industrial/MW Scale Systems and Cell Stacks to manage non-conforming materials.
- Provide input to the Quality Assurance Log.
- Support the auditing systems based on ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Conduct Final Inspection on products to identify quality issues, communicating non-conformities to Manufacturing for correction and improvement.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Product Engineers to keep updated inspection requirements based on drawings and specifications.
- Generate and forward Quality non-conforming reports to suppliers.
- Monitor the Manufacturing Deviation process including associated logs, implementation, and fulfillment of deviations.
- Comply with Nel safety processes. Report unsafe acts and unsafe conditions, and near misses in a timely manner.
- Ensure all assigned safety, environmental, quality, and cyber security awareness trainings are completed on time.
- Monitor and analyze product quality performance.
- Monitor and report non-conformance materials.
- Maintain Quality Records up to date by collecting, analyzing, summarizing data, and generating Monthly Quality Reports.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and act on recurring customer complaints when applicable.
- Making sure Customer nonconforming products or parts returns (RMAs/DMRs) are processed on time.
- Conducting tests and assessments on customer nonconformities in collaboration with Product and/or Service Engineers supported with Corrective Action Reports (CARs) if required by customer.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 Years in quality assurance roles in a manufacturing organization
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple departments and levels from assemblers to researchers
- Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies, six sigma, lean, DMAIC, etc.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and scheduling work assignments
- Creative problem-solver – with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
- Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP is a plus
