Job summary:
The Facilities Technician provides technical expertise in all aspects of facilities maintenance including building, grounds and supporting systems. The Facilities Technician is responsible for following all regulatory requirements, common safe mechanical and electrical guidelines and good housekeeping practices while performing their duties. The Facilities Technician provides technical advice, recommendations and support to other departments/sections for their projects, issues and/or questions.
Essential job functions:
- Maintain and repair the facility walls, ceilings, floors and other architectural features.
- Evaluate and recommend new interior finishing products and supplies.
- Assist in HVAC equipment maintenance and contractor management.
- Construct new walls, ceiling and other architectural systems in support of building modification requirements.
- Manage outside facilities contractors working anywhere on the company’s property.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Regulatory Compliance
- Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc.)
- Know and follow company policies and procedures
Professional Development
- Complete required training on time (includes Master Control, live company trainings, New Employee Orientation, etc.)
Job requirements:
- High integrity, good customer service skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer experience, Microsoft office suites a plus.
- Filing, recordkeeping, writing and updating of official documents
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to work with groups and alone
- Self-motivated
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and assist in moving heavy equipment, etc.
- More than 75% of time spent walking, lifting, or working on equipment.
- 25% of time spent at desk.
Education and experience requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years facilities maintenance experience/training.
