The HR Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective training and process communications requirements are met for the plant. This includes all hourly training, such as periodic job observations, on-the-job training, and technical training in accordance with the training plan and matrix. This position may also assist with learning needs and/or coordination for salaried staff trainings.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for understanding and complying with all customer, site, corporate, regulatory and procedural environmental, safety, security, health, quality (IATF and ISO) and human resources standards.

  • Conducts/Facilitates process training requirements and scheduling new employees to meet on-the-job training needs
  • Conducts regular training audits to ensure learning requirements are met in accordance with periodic job observation and learning system requirements
  • Reports to department on training progress and plans for remediation where required
  • Maintains/updates training documents and provides regular updates to the department (toolbox topics, checklists, matrixes, and records)
  • Maintains employee on-the-job training records and provides regular updates to the department
  • Works collaboratively with all departments to ensure communication flow and training needs are met
  • Manages data files (electronic and paper) to ensure timely and accurate filing and ease of reference
  • Ensures that the training program is compliant with our management system standards.
  • Assists with process data updates, including procedures, record-keeping and updates maintenance.
  • Participates in meetings and committees as required
  • Other duties as required

- 3 years work experience and working knowledge of various jobs/ processes within the plant(s) OR 3 years in an administrative role in a manufacturing environment, preferably coordinating hourly training.

- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to plan and organize multiple projects with limited supervision.

Minimum requirements (training, experience, education):

- High School Diploma or GED

- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

- Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.

- Must be available to work flexible hours and overtime as necessary.

- Ability to manage priorities and deadlines

- Ability to ensure accuracy of work and problem solve efficiently

- Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines as well as the use of hand tools and other equipment related to this position

- Ability to walk through the plant frequently, lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

- This job will require the ability to wear all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
