What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Operations Manager position at Nemera?
Responsibilities:
- Be an agent of change in a rapidly growing environment
- Develop and implement material flow and racking solution plan for 2 Warehouses
- Develop and implement new programs/procedures to improve flow, organization, and efficiency of all warehousing areas
- Direct and prioritize the daily activities of warehouse staff to support the requirements of the customer and plant operations.
- Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, and disciplining subordinates. Provide input into the performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage adjustments, and terminations.
- Review employee timesheets for accuracy.
- Ensure employees adhere to company policies.
- Drive 5S implementation and ensure the warehouse remains clean, neat, and orderly.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the facility.
- Conduct operations in a manner, which promotes safety in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Ensure maintenance records are maintained for each piece of equipment and preventative maintenance checks are performed as required.
- Supervise and coordinate unloading and put-away of inbound shipments, verification of paperwork, and count accuracy.
- Supervise and coordinate the picking, staging, and loading of outbound shipments. Ensure the accuracy of quantity, item, and lot control of shipments as well as timely shipment to the customer. Ensure timely and accurate entry of data into the system.
- Communicate with purchasing, planning, and customer service on any issues that could impact delivery to the customer.
- Manage carriers for equipment needs, pick up, and delivery times. Inspect carrier equipment to ensure it is clean and sound.
- Process tracing requests, freight invoice payments, and loss and damage claims.
- Assure the integrity of the inventory by ensuring timely and accurate recording of all inventory movements.
- Implement procedures for identification of damaged inventory and repackaging or destruction as needed. Coordinate cycle and full physical inventory counts.
- Supervise all lot control procedures.
- Review and report to management all inventory discrepancies and develop procedures to eliminate the causes of the discrepancies.
Preferred/Required Education/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related business discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience, preferably in material handling, warehousing, and inventory control practices, including physical inventory and cycle counting
- 7 years of successfully improving a warehouse operation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills including experience with Windows and MS Office
- Working knowledge of SAP (ERP system) and Excel
- Experience in Lean / continuous improvement concepts and application a plus
- Some travel required

- Works in a manufacturing environment that may include moderate to high noise levels
