The Clinic Nurse-RN’s main job will be patient care, which includes patient education, phone triage, scheduling lab and X-ray, patient call-backs, and prescription refills. The Clinic Nurse-RN will also be responsible for assisting the doctor with patient histories and physicals, which includes putting patients in the appropriate rooms in a timely manner, doing height/weight/BMI/blood pressure/pulse/temperature, if needed. Other duties will include non-stress tests for obstetric patients. The Clinic Nurse-RN will set up rooms for the appropriate procedure and assist the doctor with all procedures. After a patient is seen, the Clinic Nurse-RN will clean the room for the next patient. The Clinic Nurse-RN will schedule X-rays and other tests for the provider, will perform phlebotomy duties for blood work, urine dip, hem occult, urine pregnancy test, etc., and will complete the proper paperwork, logging all tests performed in the proper book and charting all the lab results on patient charts/records. The Clinic Nurse-RN will answer patient’s questions either by phone or in person and will initiate patient “call backs” with directions from the doctor. To accomplish these duties, the Clinic Nurse-RN will be prompt, professional, friendly, and concerned when calling patients for any reason.
