Position Summary: This is position responsible for hospital-wide coordination of staffing, collecting and reporting of emergencies, critical incidents, and all other task assigned fitting the need of the facility. Collecting and reporting all facility reports on a nightly and daily basis gathered from the units and departments.
Responsibilities:
- Reports medical complaints and concerns of patients in a timely and responsive manner
- Reports all seclusion & restraint episodes, and endures the RN has all necessary information related to incidents
- Reports accurate completion of incident reports & required notification of incidents to designated individuals
- Manages emergency situations and critical incidents efficiently and effectively
- Make rounds to assure management of the milieu, proper completion of observation sheets by MHTs, appropriateness of assignments, and environmental/safety concern
- Addresses MHT performance, counsel’s employee and documents on Personnel Action Form
- Ensure employee incidents are reported in a timely manner to the appropriate departments
- Correctly prepare the 24-Hour Report and other documents that are requested or a necessity meeting the facility needs
- Demonstrates sound leadership skills and utilizes these skills in organizing the activities and schedules.
- Record of consistently high quality of clinical and interpersonal skills to be an exemplary role model to others
- Assertive communication; skills at counseling staff; personnel management
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school or college preferred; RN active licence required
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of supervisor or leadership experience.
Competencies: Position, Age Related.
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a in the state of Louisiana. CPR and CPI certifications required.
Other: Demonstrates sound leadership skills and utilizes these skills in organizing the activities and schedules for tasks of the unit for a given shift; record of consistently high quality of clinical and interpersonal skills to be an exemplary role model to others. Assertive communication.
HIPAA: Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical records of assigned patients.
Work Demands/Environment:
Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. In addition to lifting of patients, occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or working irregular hours. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, body fluids and other conditions common to a hospital environment.
