Job Summary: The Foreman will manage Fiber Splicing/Installation teams and partner with the Superintendent in making sure projects are completed safely meeting all customer deadlines, commitments and quality standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Accountable for the safety, quality, schedule and cost on assigned projects. You will supervise and implement projects ensuring that each job-site follows site and company policies, safety protocol and procedures.
  • Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack installations in accordance with industry standards.
  • Read and follow blueprints, instructions and specifications. Maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Serves as main point of contact between the Project Manager and crew members. You will represent the company and interface with customer, developers, property owners, utilities, and municipalities when required.
  • Responsible for managing up to 5 crew members on a day-to-day basis. Recognize outstanding contributors, build moral, motivate teams and resolve conflicts knowing when to escalate if needed.
  • Understand and adhere to customer timelines.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure that all tasks pertaining to the installation were performed to company/customer standards.
  • Prepare closeout documentation for each phase of the job as completed.
  • Act as a collaborative team player that coordinates and communicates activities with other employees, departments, and management.
  • Develop work around procedures for maintaining crew productivity during delays caused by lack of materials, weather or scope change, etc.
  • Adhere to all company and site safety policies. Must wear common protective safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, hi-vis vest when working on site.
  • Assist other team members in the performance of their duties when requested to promote a team approach to problem solving.
  • Complete assigned tasks, required paperwork, including test results, red lined scope changes, etc.
  • Provide on the job training for employees working under your direction and teach methods to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Hold daily meetings before beginning work. This will include Safety Tool Box talks and the projected work for the day.
  • Maintain company issued equipment including but not limited to vehicle, tools, and equipment specific to job. Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks.
  • Knowledge of cable installation practices, dressing cables, lacing, terminating, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic AC and DC power plants.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic cable types, make-up of fiber optic cables, and manufacturer specifications to prevent damage of cables.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturers ISP racks, cabinets, ladder rack, fiber guide and termination panels.
  • Knowledge of cable testing procedures and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of inside plant safety measures.
  • Knowledge of data center security processes and adhere to the measures they put in place.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Education and Experience:
  • Education Level: High School/GED

Experience: 5 years of relevant job experience. Relevant job experience is described as job experience in similar industry or job experience with similar essential duties
