Position Summary: The Director of Resident Care-LPN is a position that is responsible for ensuring the general well-being of the residents through the delivery of high quality services in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of assisted living and the facility, as defined in the terms of the contract.
Minimum:
DON must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing in the State of Kansas with ability to work flexible hours, as applicable. The DON-LPN must be able to relate to residents and employees in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances. The DON-LPN must be able to pass State background checks. The DON- LPN must have a high level of knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and Medication Administration procedures. The DON-LPN must be a self-starter, have good judgment and leadership skills. Director of Resident Care-LPN must possess organizational, personnel, and time management skills.
Preferred: Three years experience in memory care desired.

Areas of Responsibilities/Job Duties-Resident Care:
1. Provides pre-admission and ongoing resident and other required evaluations.
2. Assists management in scheduling, training, supervision, and completion of medication administration and resident care activities.
3. Participates in the preparation, coordination and implementation of the negotiated service agreement/health services plan, and in the development of the resident plan of care.
4. Assists with the oversight of facility policies and procedures, and standards of practice.
5. Participates in the quality assurance activities through investigation of incidents, grievances, safety hazards, and medication errors.
6. Participates in the training and related requirements for the facility safety, infection control, and disaster preparedness activities.
7. Assists with the orientation and training of facility employees in all aspects of resident care.
8. Promotes and facilitates interactive problem-solving with employees.
9. Communicates effectively and give direction to employees.
10. Follows appropriate channels, records, and follows-up on complaints, problems, and concerns.
11. Participate in management meetings, as requested.
