Specific Job Requirements

•  Mechanical background familiar with the basic concepts of machinery components and functions.
• Capable of understanding machinery diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, installation and maintenance instructions / manuals etc..
• Strong understanding of Pneumatic Valves, Actuators, Cylinders. Mechanical Rotary, Slide and Butterfly vales, Bag House Dust Collectors, Blower Compressors, Screw Pumps, etc. etc.… a plus
• Competent in the use and operation of the tools of the trade, power tools, grinders, drill press, veneer calipers, etc..
• Basic trouble shooting skills able to effectively diagnose and assess machine operations and performance.
• Basic steel fabrication skills, able to stick / mig weld and use of oxy acetylene torch etc..
• Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical process controls and components. Able to perform basic electrical trouble shooting and repair. Able to read and understand basic electrical diagrams and schematics. PLC knowledge a plus.
• Monitor the unloading of cement and slag vessels by working with long shore-man.
• Actively participate in the plant’s safety program through use and knowledge of safety rules and regulations (OSHA knowledge preferred)
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies & procedures.
• Knowledge of material flow and process in order to perform safe and efficient maintenance.
• Operate/troubleshoot a computerized control system / PLC’s, a plus
• Able and willing to work odd hours, including overtime, if required.
• Understand and demonstrate use of the load out and reclaim system
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Stand for long periods of time and climb flights of stairs
• Good people skills, team player and must be able to multi-task
• Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Competent knowledge and experience using forklift truck, man-lift and other similar equipment.
• Work with plant management to identify unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents.
• Perform other duties and assignments as assigned or required

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Previous experience in industrial maintenance
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Demonstrated communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to work in a Total Quality and team environment.
• Knowledge of material flow and process in order to perform safe and efficient maintenance.
• Experience in resolving problems and dealing with difficult situations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, with minimal supervision, as well as be a team player.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to work overtime and weekend shifts
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Must be able to pass TSA security requirements to obtain TWIC
