What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Coordinator position at Nevada Regional Medical Center?
Essential Functions:
- Write up incoming intakes. Review labs, UDS, radiology reports, nursing notes, H & P, affidavits, acuity, and any additional information.
- Review incoming intakes with psychiatrist.
- Correspond with outlying facilities regarding bed availability.
- Organize intakes into appropriate folders in Odin.
- Complete monthly EMTALA log.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
- Ability to identify those who need help.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.
- Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requirements:
- BLS and NCI within 90 days of employment, renewed bi-annually / annually.
- GED, High School Diploma or relevant training/experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Healthcare Experience preferred.
