Position Summary
To assist the principal with administrative duties necessary to proactively and successfully fulfill teaching and learning needs.
Essential Functions (include, but may not be limited to)
- Serves as school building office manager and provides appropriate direction to other office support staff in cooperation with the administration.
- Provides daily office related support and guidance for certified/licensed and non-teaching personnel.
- Performs general office duties; such as, typing, sorting, filing, mail and package processing, maintaining files and records, duplicating materials, selling various tickets and collecting fees, scheduling and processing various forms and reports so that the building functions in a proper and effective manner.
- Performs receptionist duties; such as answering telephones, disseminating information to persons and providing directions so that questions and inquiries are properly answered.
- Maintains accounting records and budgets, prepares the necessary forms for processing, so that accurate information is available in an up-to-date manner
- Coordinates the supply and equipment inventory.
- Records and maintains accurate records consistent with established guidelines.
- Assists the Registrar with the enrollment or withdrawal of new students.
- Assists with or coordinates special projects or events.
- Positively contributes to the overall school culture and climate.
- Coordinates and maintains calendar and schedules.
- Creates, prepares, and proofs documents.
- Organizes and updates school related materials, documents, or matters daily.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records.
- Facilitates and reconciles AESOP and VeriTime reporting as required.
- Create and disseminate oral, written, or electronic communications.
- Assist administrators with safety and security protocols as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training and education preferred.
- 3-5 years clerical/secretarial experience preferably in an office environment.
- Experience in educational organizations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of office practices, policies and procedures.
- Proficient in Power School software preferred.
- Intermediate-level knowledge or greater of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents and staff.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Self-starter with ability to resolve a variety of matters daily without constant direction.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to synthesize and analyze data.
Terms of Employment:
Bargaining unit exempt non-teaching administrative employee working 260 days for 8 hours per day excluding lunch.
Work year calendar to be established by the Board of Education and will be provided annually.
Anticipated daily hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. inclusive of a thirty minute unpaid lunch. Hours outside of this normal duration may be required from time-to-time.
Professional skills testing is a term and condition required for employment.
Salary range of $50,000-$65,000 shall be assigned commensurate with level of knowledge and demonstrated successful experience. Comprehensive fringe benefits available.
