The Team Lead is a key part of the Store Leadership Team. The Team Lead will work with store associates and provide daily communication, direction and training to align with our daily goals and expectations. In the absence of the Store Manager or Asst. Store Manager, the Team Lead supervises and manages all store associates including implementing and enforcing company policies, procedures and company directives. Acts according to New Balance’s Core values.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with opening and closing the store, ensuring that the company culture is maintained, policies and procedures are followed and a positive leadership presence is out on the sales floor.
- Actively coaches and provides feedback to associates to ensure New Balance Guest engagement, culture and policies and procedures are followed
- Assists with managing and processing payroll as well as writing store schedules of associates to help ensure appropriate store coverage that meet the needs of the business
- Assists in the recruiting process for the store including interviewing. Ensures applicants meet the needs of the business with appropriate availability and skill set
- Supports the Store Manager in achieving store metrics including sales, units per transaction, and conversion among other metrics.
- Coordinates volunteer opportunities with store management to build our brand within the communities that we serve.
- Models the store training program to ensure total customer satisfaction. Creates a pinnacle customer experience that only New Balance can offer.
- Effectively demonstrates strong product knowledge and the ability to train current and new associates on the features and benefits of our products
- Assists with all Loss Prevention policies and procedures to control exposure to internal and external losses. Assists with the Loss Prevention Audits including sales auditing, receiving, and cash handling.
- Ensures the store product is received per company guidelines and merchandised to the sales floor. Plays an integral part in the execution of inventory management through cycle counts and during annual inventory.
- Assists Store Leadership with the execution of visual merchandising standards and ensures brand standards are maintained and communicated to the store team.
- Follows all store safety and emergency procedures

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent educational and work experience

2 year retail supervisory experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 4 lbs. constantly.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. occasionally
- Push or pull 50 lbs. over 200 ft. occasionally.
- Ability to kneel or squat frequently.
- Stand for prolong periods. Occasionally climb ladders
