The Admissions Assistant is a member of the New Student Recruitment Team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admission, the Admissions Assistant manages aspects of the recruitment program at New College.
The Admissions Assistant, based on campus, will direct all recruitment activities and recruit students from specific geographic regions. Recruitment activities include high school visits, college fairs, on-campus and off-campus recruitment events such as open houses, admitted student days, regional receptions, and information sessions to raise awareness of New College. This individual will conduct on-campus individual and group information sessions for students, families, and counselors, lead campus tours as needed, assist in the Welcome Center as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
The Admissions Assistant conducts extensive research using demographic information and data to determine which geographic areas within the assigned territory are the most productive and then categorizes those areas into primary, secondary and tertiary markets. The Admissions Assistant cultivates strong relationships with organizations (NCSSS, CTCL, NACAC, SACAC, etc.) and people (high school counselors, currently enrolled students and parents, alumni, etc.) that can assist with raising NCF’s visibility within the territory. The Admissions Assistant analyzes patterns of contacts and other indicators and aggressively manages their caseload in their assigned territory to increase the number of “first choice” applicants who will apply, enroll and succeed at NCF. The Admissions Assistant develops an annual plan for the territory that contributes to the successful achievement of goals and enrollment targets in the overall multi-year recruitment plan. At the end of each cycle, the Assistant provides documentation to the Associate Director on the return on investment (ROI) of all activities within the territory and then adjusts the subsequent year’s plan accordingly.
The Admissions Assistant frequently communicates with students, families, high school counselors, parent ambassadors, alumni and other important student influencers via email, phone, text message, and other digital platforms as needed and is expected to provide superb customer service with professionalism.
