Are you looking for a rewarding career working with children with autism? The New England Center for Children (NECC), is looking for individuals who are passionate about helping our students lead more independent lives. NECC is a global leader in autism education and research. We provide a comprehensive structure to help children and young adults with autism through evidence-based services in home-based, day, and residential programs, in unison with ongoing research on educational best practices.
Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) work in our residential program and collaborate with a team of professionals to instruct students in general curriculum areas including communication, social skills, activities of daily living (i.e. personal hygiene), vocational skills, adaptive physical education, and self-preservation. BHTs are responsible for keeping our students' spaces clean and safe and will do some general house chores. They are also trained in medication administration (MAP), student/van transportation, and verbal and physical de-escalation of challenging behaviors (CALM training), allowing our students to effectively communicate their needs, improve their problem-solving skills, and maintain their well-being.
