Summary/Objective: The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment within the organization. This role involves troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and conducting repairs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and troubleshoot problems to determine root causes.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems as needed.
  • Calibrate machinery and perform adjustments to optimize performance and quality.
  • Document maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with machinery and equipment.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in machine technology and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools, equipment, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to machinery and equipment maintenance.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with specific types of machinery or equipment relevant to the organization's industry.
  • Certification in maintenance-related fields such as HVAC, electrical, or welding.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking and scheduling maintenance activities.
