Our Place, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a full-time Nurse Educator. Our Place pregnancy and parenting education focuses on the health and well-being of each parent and child. Our caring professionals mentor new parents and give them the support and tools to raise healthy children and provide a loving, caring and safe home. e are a unique program that follows new parents from pregnancy through the first three years of their child’s life.
The Nurse Educator works to assess, identify and assist with the design, coordination and implementation of the client services and educational programs that focus on the health and well-being of the pregnant/parent clients and their children.
The schedule will generally be Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, but the Nurse Educator needs to be flexible in working later to accommodate clients scheduled as needed and participate in special events. Job Duties:
· Provide education covering pregnancy, childbirth, breast-feeding, postpartum and newborn care and other curriculum topics
· Modify and adapt the curriculum to meet individual client needs
· Update the curriculum/materials/handouts in order to maintain current information and meet client needs e.g. languages other than English, complexity etc.
· Schedule and conduct client in-office, home, hospital and Zoom appointments according to client need
· Complete all required case documentation, grant-related reports” and monthly Expense Reports in a timely manner
· Attend and participate in clinical consultation group and agency in-service training programs and educational workshops and educational workshops as appropriate
· Maintain the clinical competencies to provide educational services to the OUR PLACE clients.
· Network with community resources, including OB/GYN offices, social service agencies, institutions, schools, clergy and local (Catholic) deanery parishes, as directed by the OUR PLACE Program Supervisor
· Communicate OUR PLACE program goals, services and benefits to community resources
· Participate in bi-monthly Parents Group sessions and present on health-related topics as requested
Requirements
· Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Childbirth Educator in the State of New Hampshire
· Two years of patient education experience in a specialized practice in Maternity/Child Health
· Must be CPR certified
· Previous work experience in the field of social services, preferred
· Must be willing to work with and respect the cultures and needs of immigrant and refugee clients, and clients with Substance Use Disorder, physical and mental health challenges
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
