NHCS Therapeutic Child Mentor
Salary Range: $31,200 - $41,600 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Operations Director
A therapeutic female child support worker is required to make face-to-face contact with female children and provide direct therapeutic intervention and support that assists the recipient in developing behavior management and living skills which help female children to improve autonomous functioning. Therapeutic female child support services may be rendered in a variety of settings. These may include the home, school, and community. The appropriate rendering of services in these settings should be reflective of the setting in which the recipient’s at- risk behaviors can be reduced through real-life application of the goals of therapy as directed by the child’s treating professional.
Responsibilities
- Assures that the quality of TCS services is maintained;
Insures that all clinical records (electronic and hard copy) are accurate, current, and meet all state and federal licensing regulations;
- Attends all team meetings. Considers actions to be taken and implements changes to avoid similar patient behaviors.
- Participates in internal and external committees and management team meetings;
- Responsible for all documentation, both clinical and supportive, in a timely manner.
Clinical Services

- Provides the following services to clients or the public:
- Information and referral to clients and community resources
- Intake interviews and admission paperwork
- Crisis intervention;
- Coordinates admissions and discharges of clients;
- Develops and implements family and individual education services;
- Consults with clients, case manager, Director, Program Director and/or Financial Director when clinical concerns interface with a client's inability to pay for services;
- Provides back-up clinical care to clients when assigned staff are unavailable;
- Facilitates resident council meetings and group education or counseling with clients;
Consultation and Education
- Provide educational training and information to the families and friends of clients and to the general public as needed;
- Must attend required training and obtain required CEUs as mandated.
Planning and Community Organizing
- Use good judgment and maintain effective boundaries when sharing information about NHCS with county staff, other providers, and members of the community;
- Attend various community meetings and report relevant information to the Director;
- Participate in community needs assessments. Implement and maintain a variety of procedures to evaluate programs and services;
- Be available to offer leadership and cooperation to consumers and community providers in the development of cost-effective services;

- Ability to work in tandem and compliance with the state and county regulations.
- Ability to follow the standard operating procedures of the department and NHCS policy;
- Collaborate and coordinate with other non-profit and non-governmental organizations;
- Organize and conduct preventive efforts for consumption of alcohol, domestic violence, and drug abuse;
- Conduct program camps and services for the affected and their families in collaboration with Program Director;
- Implement necessary strategies to curb the practices of substance abuse;
- Make analysis and reports pertaining to substance abuse;
- Identify affected persons and family through references and other such measures;
- Attend seminars, conventions, and training sessions for maintaining effective services;
- Ability to take initiatives and decisions for the betterment of the individuals and their families, as well as NHCS;
- Awareness of the legal norms and procedures of the state and county(ies);
- Effective time and risk management abilities;
- Ability to work in coordination with other organizations;
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – human services, criminal justice, psychology, or social work.
- Knowledge of strategic planning
- Proficient in relevant software applications
Work Conditions
- This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Work requires standing, walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions
- Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
- Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
- The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
