Description
Qualifications: Associate Degree in the field of education, social work, psychology, or business administration is required along with a clean and valid New York State Driver License. Must have good organizational and communication skills. Clerical and typing or computer skills are a plus. Prior experience with curriculum development and training preferred. Experience with Developmental Disabilities a must.
Reports to: The Director of Staff Training and Advocacy
Essential Functions:
1. Maintain thorough knowledge of current OPWDD regulations, policies and procedures as related to staff development and training and other required areas.
2. Assist in the coordination and implementation of training programs to include new staff orientation and staff/program specific staff training.
3. Ensure that all training programs are properly scheduled, documented, and that documentation is accurately maintained in the employee training records.
4. Generate monthly training reports using Therap, Relias and Open Future Learning and assign training(s) to staff using these platforms
5. Responsible for the care of all training equipment in his/her care.
6. Assist with the creation and distribution of monthly training calendar.
7. Be willing to become certified to teach essential trainings such as CPR, SCIP, Defensive Driving, etc.
8. Maintain required trainings and documentation as required by OPWDD and assigned/recommended by the Director of Staff Training and Advocacy
Additional Functions:
1. Ensure the maintenance of accurate employee training records.
2. Responsible to perform training sessions with staff.
3. Participate in the staff in-service training programs as required.
4. Perform any other duties deemed appropriate to the position by the Director of Staff Training and Advocacy
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

- Occasional need to lift up to 50 lbs independently
