What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner Women’s Health position at New Horizons Healthcare?
New Horizons Healthcare is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Roanoke, Virginia that provides comprehensive primary care, behavioral health, dental care, and pharmacy services for almost 10,000 patients annually. We are a not-for-profit community clinic with a mission to improve access to affordable, high quality, culturally competent, comprehensive primary health care. We offer a sliding fee discount program for those who are uninsured or underinsured.
New position available for experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide Women’s Health focused primary care service delivery within our Medical clinic. This clinical team member will manage a schedule composed of Women’s Health primary preventative healthcare, gynecology, family planning, and limited obstetrical care needs. This position will make referrals as appropriate for other medical home/primary care services, including on-site integrated behavioral health, dental, and pharmacy services. Other referrals for diagnostic testing and services, and specialty care or tertiary treatment will be expected as well.
Requires current license to practice in the state of Virginia, and professional experience in Women’s Health or primary medical care. Prefer experience in community-based or public health setting. Current DEA licensure required. Must demonstrate excellent clinical diagnostic and treatment skills, cultural competency, and a passion for team-based care. Proficient computer and EMR skills required. Bilingual skills in Spanish a plus. Full-time (40 hours per week).
