Position Summary – New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) has a rewarding opportunity for a dynamic HR professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Due to the diversity of responsibilities, the ideal candidate will be a competent and resourceful individual with a passion for HR and must have the ability to learn quickly.

This position is a hybrid role, requiring two days onsite in our Newark office.

 

Person Reports To – Director of Human Resources

 

Essential Functions –

  • Support various human resource programs and procedures; assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
  • Provide support to employees and managers in various HR related topics such as leaves, onboarding, timekeeping etc. and initial intake of employee issues
  • Be an onboarding champion by partnering with the HR lead on exciting and creative ways to onboard employees (additionally will provide operational onboarding support via Kronos)
  • Assist with employee relations and employee culture/engagement programs
  • Support talent acquisition efforts, including periodically attending off-site recruiting events
  • Benefits administration support; including billing, reconciliation, auditing and reporting which will be essential to this role
  • Enhance user functionality and modules for our Kronos HRIS platform
  • Primary contact with maintaining the company Intranet to ensure all documents are current
  • May assist with delivering presentations to staff on HR programs, processes, or systems
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Prerequisite Qualifications –

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources; or a Bachelor’s in Human Resources; or a Human Resources Certification
  • Tech savvy – Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office systems, and Google skills (Google Calendars, Google Forms); Mid to advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel (ability to process data, create pivot tables, charts and work with formulas)

 

  • Nice to Have –
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented; able to work autonomously and with the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • It’s critical that you have the ability to prioritize tasks while handling multiple time-sensitive projects in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional follow-through skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to embrace and learn new technology.
