Position Summary – New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) has a rewarding opportunity for a dynamic HR professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This position is a hybrid role, requiring two days onsite in our Newark office.
Person Reports To – Director of Human Resources
Essential Functions –
- Support various human resource programs and procedures; assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
- Provide support to employees and managers in various HR related topics such as leaves, onboarding, timekeeping etc. and initial intake of employee issues
- Be an onboarding champion by partnering with the HR lead on exciting and creative ways to onboard employees (additionally will provide operational onboarding support via Kronos)
- Assist with employee relations and employee culture/engagement programs
- Support talent acquisition efforts, including periodically attending off-site recruiting events
- Benefits administration support; including billing, reconciliation, auditing and reporting which will be essential to this role
- Enhance user functionality and modules for our Kronos HRIS platform
- Primary contact with maintaining the company Intranet to ensure all documents are current
- May assist with delivering presentations to staff on HR programs, processes, or systems
- Other duties as assigned
Prerequisite Qualifications –
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources; or a Bachelor’s in Human Resources; or a Human Resources Certification
- Tech savvy – Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office systems, and Google skills (Google Calendars, Google Forms); Mid to advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel (ability to process data, create pivot tables, charts and work with formulas)
- Nice to Have –
- Self-motivated, detail oriented; able to work autonomously and with the highest degree of confidentiality.
- It’s critical that you have the ability to prioritize tasks while handling multiple time-sensitive projects in a very fast-paced environment.
