Job description
The Day Janitorial Lead is responsible for assisting the Janitorial Project Manager and Supervisor when present and assuming supervisory duties in their absence. They will help keep track of personnel on routes in various locations, buildings, offices, and other establishments on NAS Whidbey. They will supervise up to 15 employees, keeping buildings clean and in orderly condition. This is a working supervisory position. They will perform heavy cleaning such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash or debris. Other Duties may include but are not limited to performing routine maintenance on equipment and notifying management of needed repairs, or replacement equipment. They must also be available to occasionally work 1-2 hrs. on weekends or holidays on a rotating basis.
Pay & Benefits
· $20.18/Hour

Schedule
· Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm with a half-hour lunch. (35-40 hours a week).
Duties/Responsibilities
- In the absence of the Project Manager and Supervisor, the Lead will oversee the daily workflow of the Janitorial contract.
- Oversees the day janitorial crew members.
- Drives to and from various locations on base using company vehicles e.g. sedans, vans, trucks, and trucks pulling trailers. Must be able to and/or can learn to make wide turns, reverse park, back into spaces using a truck and trailer.

- Maintain contract requirements for security of government buildings, contracted spaces, storage rooms and/or areas, company equipment and supplies, including strict adherence to all required government security regulations/policies.
- Adheres to strict government security rules, regulations, and policies.
- Be familiar with and in compliance with written government contract standards in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.
- Be familiar with and adhere to company’s safety and emergency procedures, personnel policies, and be responsible for the safety and health of crew members.

- Participate with human resources staff as appropriate, in the development and monitoring of individual evaluations and/or training programs. Attending production and training meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass NAS Whidbey Island Background check at time of hire and for duration of employment. Felonies and most misdemeanors will prohibit base access.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record maintained for duration of employment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain approval to operate New Leaf vehicles approved by New Leaf’s insurance carrier.
- Ability to obtain various training requirements: Environmental training, Fire school training, un-restricted driver license training and Source America training.
Education and Experience:
- Prior management experience preferred.
- Prior janitorial experience highly preferred.

- This position requires the ability to do repetitive movements, standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and reaching.
- Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects and tools.
- Requires the use of foot controls.
- Ability to handle and move objects by lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50lbs.
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must wear full length pants and closed toed shoes. Reflective Safety vest will be provided by New Leaf.
