Donor Relations Officer
New Life Mission is looking for a highly motivated, detail-orientated person for our growing nonprofit as we continue to help Brevard County women with children permanently break the cycle of homelessness.
The Donor Relations Officer will help raise critical funds necessary to transform the lives of homeless women and children at New Life Mission and will take a lead role in soliciting and closing major gifts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Relationship Management and Cultivation
- Manage a caseload of high-level donors giving gifts of $2,500 or more with the goal of retaining donors and moving them to a higher
- level of engagement.
- Execute a tailored strategy for each donor through phone calls, correspondence, face-to-face meetings, volunteer engagements and tours.
- Cultivate new donors (individuals, corporations, foundations) with the capacity to give gifts of $2,500 and above.
- Develop and sustain a planned giving program for current donors and create gift objectives for new donors
- Work with Director of Development on campaigns to attract high-level donors
- Write proposals as needed
Monitoring and Reporting
- Document all donor interactions including phone calls, emails, text messages, in-person visits and gift acknowledgments in the DonorPerfect database.
- Work closely with the Director of Development to monitor activity to achieve major gift revenue goals.
- Assist with review and verification of major gift donor recognition lists
Community and Staff Relations
- Display strong interpersonal skills, proven networking skills and a genuine desire to connect deeply with people from diverse backgrounds, such as high-capacity givers and those experiencing homelessness
- Actively participate as a member of the development team in sharing resources, supporting team goals and participating in collaboration.
- Represent the mission in a professional, courteous and positive manner at all times, and display a high level of integrity both on and off the clock
- Maintain professional behavior to include respecting families and staff, maintaining confidentiality, and setting appropriate personal boundaries.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Embrace the organization’s Statement of Faith
- Ability to articulate the mission to donors, volunteers, employees and donors – both in writing and in person
- Ability to establish priorities, navigate overlapping timelines and meet deadlines
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to write clear, concise, accurate notes and other communications.
- Ability to travel within the Brevard County areas and participate in donor-focused events held on evenings and weekends.

- Salary dependent on work experience, skill set, and education
