New Story School in Carlisle, PA is seeking a qualified Curriculum Coordinator to take on a key role in the school's leadership team. The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for and will provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, development, implementation, review and coordination of curriculum in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations for children with special needs. This position will coordinate state assessment compliance. The Coordinator ensures that the district/school education objectives are aligned to state frameworks and to instructional practices that yield he highest standards of student achievement and instructional excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with Department of Education regulations.
- Maintain open lines of communication with Directors.
- Communicate routinely with teachers, coordinators and Directors regarding curriculum, instructional strategies, transition, and program quality.
- Project training needs and assist with training for staff to increase skill development.
- Provide training and support with IEP compliance, meetings, programming and services.
- Assist with the development of individualized lesson plans or specifically designed instruction.
- Support special education teachers in following appropriate teaching practices and curricula.
- Review lesson plans to ensure continuity with IEP goals.
- Assist Educational Staff as needed to plan, implement, and adapt instructional activities.
- Coach and assist education staff as directed by Supervisor.
- Coordinate curriculum and instructional initiatives.
- Communicate with parents and team members about programming, as directed.
- Utilize non-violent crisis intervention techniques, as needed.
- Engage in professional networking activities to establish and maintain relationships with school districts and within the community.
- Support all aspects of district instructional and curriculum integration of technology.
- Coordinate the administration and analysis of all state and local testing programs within the region, including the creation of an annal region-wide assessment calendar.
- Represent the region in meetings and conferences related to curriculum and instruction, assessment, and technology.
- Attend various meetings with school districts, community agencies, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other meetings as necessary.
- Act in the role of Substitute Teacher as necessary.
- Submit or assist with school purchase requests.

Salary : $39,700 - $50,300
