Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), company vehicles, equipment, and other building systems for Scranton and Carroll manufacturing sites. They will provide strong leadership to the team and work with manufacturing leaders to support production. This position reports to Vice President of Operations, Scranton.
Management Responsibilities:
• Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
• Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handles coaching, discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
• Assures payroll is complete, accurate and on time.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
• Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
• Oversees maintenance projects and assigns tasks.
• Interacts with vendors and suppliers to assure fair and accurate pricing.
• Uses ERP system for purchasing, inventory control, and effective management of time and materials.jim
• Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
• Develops maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
• Holds team accountable to follow safety policies and procedures.
• Conducts safety inspections as needed.
• Coordinates special projects with Mississippi locations.
• Supports maintenance of other McLaughlin Family companies as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electronics up to 480 volt, including facility and equipment.
• Construction knowledge preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
• Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Valid drivers license, Class A CDL preferred.
• Ability to operate industrial equipment including cranes and forklifts.
Education and Experience:
• Industrial Maintenance Certificate preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of maintenance experience required plus management experience.
• OSHA 30 certification
• Arch Flash training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to diagnose property and facility building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
• Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to occasionally climb ladders.
