JOB SUMMARY
Set-up, assemble and weld component parts and materials as required to produce quality products by utilizing the tungsten insert gas (TIG) method of welding. Must have the ability to correctly use various electronic equipment in order to assemble, modify, calibrate and test instruments per established YCA procedures and the customer order requirements. Responsible for production schedules assigned, quality of product, following the company safety policy as well as the NYPS principle. Responsible for reporting quality/engineering concerns in a timely manner to the Group Leader and Production Manager. Must interface, communicate well and work with Engineering and QA as well as other internal YCA departments.
DUTIES/RESULTS
- Set-up welding machines by using preset or designed charts by analyzing conditions and material requirements.
- Assemble and weld materials and/or parts using jigs, fixtures and hand tools.
- Maintains equipment and supports materials to ensure quality of weld.
- Assist in training of new welders.
- Perform rework or special support to the machine shop.
- Read production order tags, Spec sheets, Tokuchus, drawings, spreadsheets, and/or data sheets to determine manufacturing procedures and test equipment needed.
- Perform all required testing adjusting, setting parameters and calibration.
- Write and issue accurate detailed reports, data sheets, check sheets and quality documents as required.
- Responsible for production schedules assigned, quality of product and line PTR.
- Must follow the YCA safety policy and NYPS principles.
- Refer major time consuming problems to group leader or supervisor.
- Troubleshoot and repair any defective product as required.
- Participate in team communications, meetings and actively strive to make suggestions regarding ideas to improve safety, product quality, product delivery, production efficiency, etc.
- Maintain a clean work area by continuous monitoring of assigned station and area.
- Maintain and develop a team work environment.
- Must exhibit high quality soldering techniques and skills.
- Must have a high level of dexterity to perform with accuracy in producing required quantities of product with emphasis in quality.
- Cross-train in other areas and products.
- Other duties as assigned by Production Manager.
DIMENSION
Assembly and calibration of IA products / Resale Products in a multi-product manufacturing plant. Assemble and weld machined parts and components of a superior quality on a timely basis to support the assembly areas.
SPECIFICATIONS
Qualification :
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. with assistance
- Possess good mechanical dexterity.
- Ability to read schematics, tokuchus and any other data needed to test, modify, manufacture or calibrate the products to required specifications.
- Must have good communication skills
- Proficient in basic computer skills
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior Experience: Three (3) consecutive years of recent experience in TIG welding. Experience in welding of stainless steel materials preferred. Minimum of two years manufacturing experience.
