What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Prep position at New York Italian Deli?
Our Family owned deli is looking for an experienced Deli Associate to join our team. A successful candidate will have experience using heavy duty equipment and working in a fast-paced environment in a commercial kitchen. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about deli meats, cheeses and other cold cuts, and will be able to work independently during their shift.
You will
- Be responsible for prepping orders for breakfast and lunch
- Comfortable working on the grill
- Working in a fast pace environment
- Be able to answer questions about products and explain the best ways to utilize them.
What We're looking for
- 18 years of age or older
- 2 years working in a fast pace restaurant
- Responsible and willing to take on multiple tasks
- 40 hours work week, Monday-Saturday
Physical Requirements
- Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
- Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.

Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
