What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN/Charge Nurse position at new?
LPN must be able to use best practices in nursing care, quality assurance, state regulations, standards, and mandates in long term care; documenting services according to acceptable practice and standards; working with elderly & disabled population; work effectively with physicians & other treatment team staff, read and implement physician orders, distribution & inventorying medications; medication side effects; universal precaution/infection control; solve problems & make sound judgments; effective oral written, and interpersonal skills; maintain confidentiality; work and be available for varied/flexible schedule. The Charge Nurse is responsible for the well-being and nursing care of all residents assigned to their care during their shift change, or a tour of duty. This includes, but is not limited to: provision of nursing services; and assisting in: carrying out physician’s orders; assessing residents to note any changes in resident’s condition; distribution of medications, chart medication, distribution & count narcotics & maintain narcotic inventory record; provide leadership and guidance to C.N.A. staff, and respond immediately to emergencies.
