Responsibilities:
The Process Research and Development department of the Client has a research chemist position available in the Rahway, New Jersey research facility.
a. It is a laboratory-based role to support process development.
b. Seeking a candidate with experience in organic chemistry, organic synthesis, methodology/catalysis (including chemocatalysis, biocatalysis and heterogeneous catalysis), total synthesis, physical organic chemistry, or flow chemistry, along with a proven track record of solving problems.
Qualifications:
A PhD in Chemistry with 0-1year experience or an MS degree in chemistry with a minimum of 5 years of experience in organic synthesis including synthetic methodology, catalysis, and / or total synthesis along with a proven track record of solving problems.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
a. Significant experience in synthesis, purification and analytical characterization including HPLC, MS, and NMR
b. Experience in DOE design and process characterization
c. Software: Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
d. Must have: Synthetic organic chemistry experience.
e. Nice to have: Experience in industry pharma/Agro-chemical.

a. Strong attention to detail, particularly when documenting experiments
b. Strong oral and written communication skills
c. Willing to work in a collaborative manner as a part of a team Solid critical thinking skills
