POSITION OVERVIEW
At Newark Board of Education, we aim to provide a world-class education for every student. Our principals bring this vision to life at their school. As the principal, you lead all aspects of the school, from bringing your teachers and staff together around a common vision to making sure day-to-day operations are running smoothly. You're an instructional leader, spending time in classrooms, working with teachers to ensure that students are learning, and partnering with families on post-secondary success. You're a culture leader, fostering an inclusive, caring, and supportive school community for students and staff and building strong relationships with families and the community. And you're an organizational leader, which means doing everything from managing a budget and evaluating staff to analyzing data and ensuring your school's efforts follow district policy. You'll balance many priorities and wear many hats. You'll be a presence at College Night and the basketball game. As the school leader, you're ultimately responsible for the success of your school - but you won't get there alone. Because school success is a team sport, you'll foster the leadership of your vice principal(s) and entire team of teachers and staff, empowering them and enabling the collaboration needed for your school to succeed.
