Job Title: Senior Technical Writer

Job Location: DC Area, currently remote

Position Overview: LSI requires the service of a Technical Writer to support a Department of Justice customer. The Technical Writer must be an individual who possesses technical writing skills with three to five years of experience in technical requirements gathering and creating documentation. The candidate should have at least 5 years total experience.

Responsibilities:

· Author and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP), standardized communication templates, and SharePoint sites.

· Translating technical information into requirements documentation

· Update customer database and Outlook distribution lists of ~600 User Agencies and ~1000 Coordinators.

· Edit/review over 50 training Job Aids, Quick Start Guides, and videos.

· Edit and manage ~60 law enforcement system requirements and test documents.

· Produce 12 monthly transaction reports and data queries, while managing 4 data management SOPs.

· Gathering information from various sources, providing data analysis and recommending process improvements

· Providing additional general support, i.e., tracking policy directives and the strategic planning process, providing weekly and monthly status reports, etc.

· Maintain blanket approved templates

· Update SOP for Planned & Unplanned Outages

· Updated the Broadcast Distribution Lists weekly

· Assist with drafting CSA notifications

SOPs & Other Templated Docs

  • Manage all SOPs in SharePoint throughout the review process
  • First review of draft, ensure all SOPs are standardized

JCIS Mailbox

  • Manage JCIS Mailbox

LESIS Contractors Distribution List

  • Modify the distro list as applicable

LESIS SharePoint Management

  • Manage and update the LESIS SP information update, metatags, User permissions

LESIS WAR

  • Manage and prepare WAR templates and archives

Dynamics/CRM Hub Meetings

  • Schedule, manage and capture all action items and issues related to MS Dynamics / LESIS CRM Hub

JCIS Training and Learning Center

· Access

· Updating resources

· Uploading new resources

Requirements:

· Experience reviewing and editing work products written by other team members.

· Mastery of English grammar, sentences syntax and formatting.

· Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 products including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.

· Excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.

· Display a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently under minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

· Customer service orientation with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

· Ability to apply knowledge of law enforcement concepts, policies, and procedures

· Must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Requirements:

· Experience in the federal government or law enforcement sector

· Three to Five years of specialized experience related to the duties described above

· Publisher or InDesign experience

· Microsoft Dynamics experience

· ServiceNow experience

Education and Certifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline

· Ability to receive a security clearance

· US Citizen
