POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Mechanic II supports all production/facility equipment and teams, performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all equipment, completes process improvement projects, and maintains the facility in top condition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Maintenance Mechanic II possesses the skill set of the Maintenance Mechanic I, has at least two years of related maintenance experience, and demonstrates proficiency in the following additional skills:
• Initial pump/motor alignments and realignments
• Identification and utilization of proper pipe flange torque specifications
• Centrifugal pump mechanical seal replacement
• Digital and written work permitting including hot work, pipe break, etc.
• Material take offs for mechanical and electrical projects
• Copper tube fitting with solder or ProPress connections
• Stainless steel tube fitting with compression connections
• Drilling/tapping threaded holes in aluminum, stainless steel, & carbon steel
• Oil changes on gearboxes, etc.
• Drywall repair and finishing
• Unwiring and rewiring electric motors including checking rotation
• Installation of conduit and pulling of wire for electrical runs
• Measurement and adjustment of chiller glycol concentration
• ANSI chain replacement and repair
• Gas and liquid leak detection/leak check after service installation or repair
• AOD pump rebuild, air and liquid sides
• Ball valve soft goods replacement
• Manual use of plant HMI for data collection and troubleshooting
• Installation and removal of ball bearings in rotating assemblies
• Progressive cavity mechanical seal replacement or stator rebuild
• Threading of stainless and carbon steel piping
• Process improvement project planning and execution with internal stakeholders
• Facility repairs including plumbing, low voltage electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
2 years related experience or equivalent.
• Prior experience in industrial manufacturing with emphasis on rotating equipment
• Experience with 240V-480V industrial electrical installation highly preferred
• Knowledge of plumbing, piping, basic electrical, carpentry, and industrial maintenance
• Machining and/or fabrication experience a plus
• Ability to work at heights, in inclement weather, and with a variety of powered industrial vehicles
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing
priorities with enthusiasm.
• Good computer skills, ability to create spreadsheets in Excel, prepare emails and memos using Word and email, and conduct internet research.
• Strong safety knowledge and ability to follow any and all safety requirements.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving ability and time/workflow management skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, nights, and/or weekends as needed.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is required to work in a manufacturing warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and ear protection is required.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, non-exempt, shift based position, assigned hours 3:00pm-11:30pm Monday to Friday.
TRAVEL
Local travel may be required to/from offsite storage facilities, suppliers, etc. using company or personal vehicles.
OVERTIME
Overtime hours may be required or offered depending on plant and company needs, but are not guaranteed.
COMPENSATION
This position's pay rate depends on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
