Essential Functions
Overall Management responsibility of a range of activities in support of the Global Supply Chain and Sourcing team’s end-to-end strategic sourcing process. Manages global sourcing activities, prioritizing and rebalancing against business objectives. Provides key inputs in securing and managing global relationships with key suppliers across inventory chemicals, throughout their product life cycle for the business. Works with the Global Sourcing Director in contract negotiations, employing best methods to manage risk and maximize value. Additional activities include opportunity assessment, strategy development, supplier negotiations, market intelligence, supplier contracts review, and supplier performance management. Compiles spend analytics, supplier profiles and market intelligence to support all sourcing events. Educates business community of contract terms through contract summaries, announcements, and briefings. Experience managing other management level employees required. Handles special projects as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluating sourcing procedures and presenting improvement strategies to senior management for approval
- Analyzing and calculating procurement costs and developing cost reduction strategies
- Driving purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis, as well as market trends
- Negotiating contract with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality
- Collaborating with the procurement department to identify and pursue new supplier opportunities
- Conducting market research, as well as creating cost estimates for forecasts
- Hiring, training, and managing procurement department employees
- Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques, as well as negotiating contracts that comply with industry regulations
- Maintaining strategic sourcing relationships and developing strong partnerships
Education & Experience Requirements Bachelors Degree or educational equivalent. 8 years Manufacturing, Operations, or Supply Chain environment experience including 4 years of management or supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of supply chain systems and features, report-writers, databases, and internet technology applications. Advanced financial skills. Professional and effective communication skill – written and oral. Management of contract administration required. Excellent customer service skills. Must be customer focused – working with both internal and external customers. Thorough knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources modeling. Strong analytical and presentation skills.
