The Investment Associate will join our Cyber Security & Enterprise Technology group to support all investment activity in these sectors.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Research and deal sourcing to identify new investments in Cyber Security, Cloud, Network and Data infrastructure, Identity & Access, AI/ML, SaaS, DevOps and other enterprise technology sectors
- Involvement in all aspects of due diligence on new investments including business analysis, industry thesis, competitive landscape, business/pricing model, financial modeling, and deal structuring
- Preparation of clear, concise, and impactful presentations describing investment opportunities for internal decision making
- Developing relationships with key stakeholders in relevant business units inside NextEra
- Working with portfolio companies post investment to help with business development both inside and outside NextEra
Qualifications:
- Industry relevant bachelor's degree (master's preferable)
- 5 years of work experience in top-tier venture capital, technology-related management consulting, or investment banking
- Highly analytical thinking and ability to conduct rigorous, independent research for potential investments
- Financial (particularly investing) literacy
- Ability to adapt to new situations, learn quickly and drive independent work with minimum guidance.
- Entrepreneurial spirit - thrive in a fast-paced venture team in its formative stages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
