Video Editor
NextJen Studios is seeking an experienced, creative video editor to join our production team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. You will be responsible for the editing of engaging and exceptionally designed video and motion graphic content. The ideal candidate must display an exceptional eye for detail, storytelling, the ability to receive and implement feedback and a strong willingness to learn and grow in the position.
Duties include reviewing existing footage, syncing audio, working with the director to craft the story, providing review of rough cut, and making any final changes for fine cut prior to publishing.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with production team to bring to life exceptional creative video and motion content.
- Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and video intent.
- Create an initial draft of the story and video to present to director and receive approval before crafting final video.
- Improve video and sound quality using various video software programs.
- Edit video to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips and other important aspects of the project.
- Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos according to specifications and outlet where content will be shared.
Skills/Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as editor.
- Bachelor’s degree in film/video production is preferred, but not required.
- Expert creative editorial skills with strong portfolio website and reel.
- Professional mastery of video and audio editing software and programs
- Ability to multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, multi-task, bring in fresh ideas, give and receive positive and constructive feedback, and confront and resolve conflicts.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
- Demonstrated proficiency in production, video editing, motion graphics, sound design, and video compression codecs.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong prioritization with up-to-date understanding of the latest digital creative trends.
- Advanced knowledge developing video for social media platforms and strong understanding of the technical media requirements.
- Advanced media management skills.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere and After
Effects, and Frame.
This work will be under contract to begin with the potential for full time employment with experience.
Work is project based with hour caps.
