NIKA is hiring for a Fire Alarm Mechanic for a base operations support services contract at the US Coast Guard Base in Kodiak, AK!

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing technical services to the USCG Kodiak on Fire Suppression Systems, including the installation and commissioning of new or expanded systems; performing system modifications as necessary; conducting regular testing and inspections of systems; and performing troubleshooting and repairs as needed.

Required Skills

  • 2-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent in a technical field; or possesses 3-5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields
  • minimum of 3 years computer experience/operation and PLC programming.
  • Must be able to identify code and non-conformance issues, make recommendations regarding system installations and service/repairs, and have the necessary certifications to perform the tasks independently.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
