Job Overview
Summary/Objective
The Technical Proposal Engineer will be responsible for generating product-focused quotations and customer-focused proposals for Nikkiso Energy Infrastructure and Strategic Projects based in Houston, TX. This role requires strong technical, communication, and collaborative skills, so to develop winning offerings for integrated systems, packaged products, and modularized turn-key projects. Success in the role is measured on customer awareness, acknowledgement, acceptance, and application of the Nikkiso offering. Current focus is on CO2 systems for North and South American customers. Future activities will include clean energy fuels spanning LNG, H2, and their derivatives. Career growth is expected through influence on system offerings and impact to global sales.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Review customer’s request for proposals or Nikkiso questionnaire, so to determine the solution, including but not limited to process design, equipment selection, sizing, costing, and schedule.
- Generate Nikkiso product line, equipment quotations through collaboration with product, sales, and business managers.
- Generate Customer-defined, technical proposals through collaboration with engineering, project, sales, and business managers.
- Provide to customer accurate information regarding products, delivery schedule, services, and
- Support in a timely manner commercial and technical interface with the customer depending on sales management requirements.
- Engage with engineering managers to assure process and design is appropriate per customer requirements.
- Engage with project managers to propose timelines for deliverables

- Maintain quotation and proposal log and enter data and generate reports using Salesforce.
- Perform job duties, promote teamwork, and communicate in conjunction with company values of Innovation, Interaction, Dependability, and Safety.
- Support the sales manager to follow up with customer upon award of business.
- Transition winning offerings to engineering and project teams.
- Influence product development, engineered solutions, and project execution based on market feedback.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, maturity, customer service focus and overall good
- Perform other duties as assigned in relation to this role in an office team environment and when traveling to other CE&IG facilities.

Education and Experience
- Mechanical/Chemical Engineering bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years in application or sales engineering, preferably in a plant manufacturing environment.
- Experience in CO2, natural gas and industrial gas industry is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities at this time.
Work Environment
This job will generally be performed in an office environment but will require travel to other offices or CE&IG facilities in coordination with the sales/leadership team.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
