Digital Media Coordinator
Purpose Statement
The job of Digital Media Coordinator is done for the purpose of managing the district's presence in print and online, branding and marketing, social media, supporting district events, and related activities, producing content aligned with the district's mission, reviewing analytics, recruiting and coordinating student interns, facilitating customer service and managing projects and campaigns.
This job reports to the Director of Communications.
Essential Functions * Support district event planning, including evenings and weekends * Designs community reports, brochures, posters, flyers and marketing materials, and other district publications as needed * Recruits and mentors student interns for social media, communications, graphics, videography, and photography opportunities within the district * Manage and create the day-to-day handling and posting to all social media channels including but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube * Supports web content development with the Communications Department * Monitor, track, analyze and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights * Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to improve and measure social media activity and website analytics. * Educate district and school staff on D219 and Communication protocols, procedures, and guidelines as they relate to digital media efforts * Create and maintain a photo archive to ensure compelling images and graning are available for district use * Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies related to digital media production * Update the website with news for the purpose of informing students, parents, teachers, staff, administration, and the community about current events & programs. * Collaborate with the Communications Department and the Technology Department to create user-friendly content and timely information on the the D219 website * Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit pertaining to District 219.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications * Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of social media platforms such as, but not limited to - Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn * Demonstrated knowledge/understanding of website management * Event Planning and Management Experience * Strong understanding of equity practices within educational environments and experience using approaches with an anti-racist lens with regards to programs, policies, and
procedures * Participation in student activities and groups * Engage with staff, students, and the community
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications; social media applications, planning and coordinating events; developing effective working relationships.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include public relations policies and procedures; community resources; personnel practices; website familiarity, knowledge of board policy, district, state, and federal regulations/laws.

Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes, and operate equipment using defined methods. Job Requirements: Preferred Qualifications * College degree * Completed training/professional development/certifications in communications, graphic design, photography, video production * Google certifications such as Analytics IQ or Ads * Staff and project supervision experience
Responsibility Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to impact the organization's services.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 65% sitting, 20% walking, and 15% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
