Job Summary:

As the Agile Coach and JIRA Cloud Librarian Contractor, you will be responsible for ensuring effective project management using Agile methodologies, as well as overseeing the organization and administration of JIRA Cloud. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality. Additionally, you will play a critical role in organizing, documenting, and maintaining our JIRA Cloud system to enable streamlined workflows and efficient project execution.

The role has 2 components with the objective of getting the product owners mature enough in Agile and in JIRA cloud by September 2024.

• Agile Coach for product owners
• JIRA Cloud Librarian

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Agile project management, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and practices throughout project lifecycles.
• Coordinate and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and development teams to define project scope, identify deliverables, and create project plans.
• Monitor project progress, track key metrics, and communicate project status to relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding of project goals.
• Mentor and support team members in Agile principles, helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Develop and drive project plan focused on:
  • Epic story development / filling in gaps
  • Supporting Product Owners and their epics
  • Preparing Product owners for Scrum / PI Planning with Product Owners (Product Owner Prep plan before PI Planning)
  • Meeting cadence with Product Owners: MS teams channel, Check-ins, grooming sessions, etc.
• Track all progress, due dates and dependencies across EPICs and product owners

    Requirements

• Required: Agile Certified Practitioner (Minimum requirement)
• Desired/preferred: Certifications (SAFE, Scrum Master)
• Minimum of 5 years of agile Coach experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a contractor for external clients
• Proven experience in Agile Coaching, preferably in a software development environment and large scale transformation (tech and process)
• Strong knowledge of Agile principles, methodologies, and practices, such as Scrum or Kanban.
• In-depth understanding and proficiency in JIRA (cloud) administration, configuration, and optimization
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle processes and agile tools (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket, or Trello).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively facilitate meetings and foster collaboration.
• Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor teams

2) JIRA Librarian (Cloud) 

Note: Do not need On Prem experience (this is going away for the client) 

Responsibilities:

• Must adhere to client standard in cloud JIRA 
• Administer and configure JIRA Cloud to optimize workflow efficiency, including project setup, user management, permission schemes, issue types, and custom fields
• Organize and maintain JIRA Cloud project boards, backlogs, sprints, and dashboards to support effective project tracking and reporting.
• Train employees on JIRA Cloud usage, best practices, and user guidelines.
• Act as a JIRA Cloud expert, providing technical support to users and troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Stay updated on Agile methodologies and JIRA Cloud trends, recommending improvements and optimizations to enhance the project management process.

Requirements:

• Experience setting up and caring for JIRA project  
• Ability to manage filters, kanban boards and dashboards so that we can get report-outs of  scrum team's progress 
• Analytics and reporting 
• PM role in JIRA with (client) product owners 

• Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools including burndown rates, velocity tracking, and cycle times
• Produce weekly progress report-outs to Nimble Team and bi-monthly with client 
• Proficiency in Jira Query Language (JQL) for advanced querying 

• Validate all attributes filled out completely as much as possible for each stage of work
• Weekly review list of priorities and check in with individuals -where are they with that and prompting discussion with folks 
• Once epics prioritized and product owners have their grooming sessions, story ready to be reviewed, then this person would scribe and make appropriate changes live. 

• Demonstrated experience in mentoring Epic owners (product owners) in agile and in JIRA (Cloud).

Requirements for the Nimble team

• Available to start work in January 2024 (assuming client contract approved by this time).
• Must be available full-time during client office hours (Pacific time) typically 9am-5pm, with flexibility as needed.
• Work is 70% remote, 30% onsite at client offices (Oakland, San Ramon- California); ~ 6 days per month
• Consultant is: already residing in the bay area or lives in CA (W Coast) and willing to travel to be onsite as required below.
